Resolution to boycott first unit test
Surat City Secondary Teachers’ Association has passed a resolution to boycott the first unit test, which several schools are preparing to hold disregarding a directive from the district education officer to the contrary. The secondary teachers had earlier issued a threat on similar lines and formalised it at its executive committee meeting held on Saturday. It has asked its members to submit two copies each of the resolution to the school holding the examination before boycotting the examination. The DEO’s order had come in the wake of the recent flood, which saw many schools remained closed for a long time, including when the Surat Municipal Corporation was spraying disinfectants in the affected schools. The schools maintain that it should be left to them whether to hold the examination or not.
