NEW DELHI, November 15: Supporters of BJP candidate from Babarpur in East Delhi, Naresh Gaur, and his independent rival Kiran Tyagi clashed this afternoon. Both the candidates sustained minor injuries in the incident. Each group has blamed the other for instigating the violence, and have filed separate complaints at Shahdara Police Station. No one, however, had been arrested till this evening. In her complaint, a member of Tyagi's camp, Krishnaa Garg, has alleged that Gaur's supporters disrupted an election meeting in the Panchsheel Park area of Shahdara.According to her, Gaur had reportedly accompanied his supporters and pelted stones and roughed up Tyagi's supporters. Krishnaa Garg also claimed that Gaur supervised the operation and ``even slapped Tyagi five times''.The Gaur camp, on the other hand, has alleged that Tyagi and 40 to 50 of her supporters came in a tempo to the area and raised anti-BJP slogans. They reportedly went to Gaur's house, and asked for him. When they were told that he was away, they allegedly hurled abuses at his family.Gaur said he was meeting with his party members at that time in the neighbourhood. He rushed home only after a relative called up to say that Tyagi and her supporters ``were creating a nuisance in the area''.According to Gaur, he was roughed by Tyagi's supporters as soon as he reached his house. He said he sustained injuries on the head and back.He has named Jaichand - one of Tyagi's supporters - as the person who assaulted him. He, however, denied that he had slapped Tyagi.Gaur later went to the police station and registered a separate complaint.A senior police official told Express Newsline: ``We are looking into the complaints filed by both sides. We will register a case after the investigations are completed''.
