NEW DELHI, August 10: Twelve teams, including last year8217;s champions Indian Air Force New Delhi and runners-up Hindustan made the super league stage at the conclusion of the DSA-SAIL Senior Division Football League here yesterday.
The groupings are:
Group I: Indian Air Force N.Delhi, Youngmen, Indian Nationals, Delhi Police, Shahdara and City.
Group II: Hindustan, Shastri, Collegians, New Delhi Heroes, Goans and Moonlight.
In the Senior Division games, from group 1, IAF took the top spot with 23 points while Shstri with the same number of points finished second on goal difference. In group 2, Hindustan with 24 points led the table.
The super league games get underway from tomorrow under floodlights, thanks to a private sponsorship. GNG Enterprise, Noida, have pumped in enormously to make the experiment a great success. The games will be of 80 minutes duration. Two teams from each group will make the semi-final grade. The final is slated for the second week of September and may go on air live.
