Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday named a 17-member squad for their opening fixture on April 19 against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali in the Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament.

Former India Test bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji has been omitted on fitness grounds while South African stars Makhaya Ntini and Albie Morkel would miss the tie as they are playing in their domestic Pro 20 tournament at that time.
