CHANDIGARH, April 21: Workers of the local unit of the Super Bazaar yesterday held a gate meeting in front of the office of the general manager to protest against the non-acceptance of their long pending demands which include the payment of arrears of the revised pay-scales, amendment in service rules and filling up of vacant posts.

President and general secretary of Super Bazaar Workers Union, Mohinder Singh and Kamaljit Singh, demanded an independent inquiry into the losses incurred by the Super Bazaar during the last three years. The workers were demanding computerisation of medicine outlets in the PGI, General Hospital in Sector 16, and the Government Medical College and hospital in Sector 32. They threatened to intensify their agitation if their demands were not met.
