In yet another suicide attack on the CRPF, two militants of Al-Mansurian outfit tonight stormed a hotel housing the 94 Battalion of the force on the banks of the Dal Lake here, injuring an officer and two soldiers.
Exploding grenades and opening indiscriminate fire, the ultras stormed Hotel York at around 9.30 pm and engaged the troops in a fierce encounter which was still continuing, official sources said.
Three CRPF personnel, including an officer, were injured in the encounter, they said. An Al-Mansurian spokesman claimed that a three-member suicide squad of the outfit stormed the CRPF camp. This is the third suicide attack on CRPF in less than two months. Militants had attacked its battalion head quarters in the Dal Gate area on July 27 in which six CRPF personnel and two ultras were killed. Nine personnel and a militant were killed in another attack on a crpf camp on August 4.
Meanwhile, in a separate encounter in the Badgam area, two Army personnel were killed and four others, including two civilians, were injured when militants exchanged heavy fire with security forces last night.
