Opposing Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s visit to India next month to watch the last one-day cricket match between India and Pakistan here, vhp today said it would not serve any purpose unless he stopped supporting cross-border terrorism.
It also made a scathing attack on BJP chief LK Advani for doing little to check infiltration from Bangladesh.
“This politics of cricket and brotherhood should end. What purpose will Musharraf’s visit serve. First, he should stop his mischief of supporting cross-border terrorism. He has missed all the test matches and would do well in watching the last one-day international from the cool comforts of his home”, vhp leader Acharya Dharmendra told reporters here.
Claiming that Hindus were fast becoming a minority in the North-East, particularly Assam as also in states such as Bihar and West Bengal, he said all parties must rise above “communal politics” to face the challenge posed by “indiscriminate infiltration” from Bangladesh.
Asked about the recent letter written by BJP chief LK Advani to the West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya on the issue, he said: “even when he (Advani) was the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, he did not do what he should have done.”
