After a really long run, Sthree has finally gone off the air. The mostpopular television series in South India, Sthree, the success of which hasprompted the makers of this Malayalam soap to go in for Tamil and Kannadaversions too, is not going to be content with just a long and successfulrun. Simultaneously with Sthree’sexit from the scenario, the new Sthree has been put on air on the samechannel, that is ,Asianet.
7.30 in the evening was the time every weekday when viewers of Asianet usedto tune in to find what happened to Indu, the protagonist in Sthree. Induhad established herself in their minds as the symbol of limitless sorrowsand suffering and Vinaya Prasad, who had donned the role had become apopular name in the telly circuits. Anyhow, Indu’s story, with manyramifications finally did come to an end. And many other accompanyingcharacters including Shobettathi, the sweet villain Vijayan, Gladis, Hariand others retreated from the mini screen and became part of the memory asfar as the viewers are concerned.
