In Guwahati city, vehicular traffic kept off the roads and all commercial establishments, including banks and financial institutions, remained closed. Barring an incident of lathi-charge on demonstrators in the oil township of upper Assam’s Duliajan, no reports of untoward incidents have been reported so far.
