During the coming month, the Bharatiya Janata Party in Himachal Pradesh is expected to initiate a core proposal for implementation of the idea of better coordination between the party and government. The party would sit together on October 5 to frame the “Vision Document-2020”, with a proposed roadmap for every sector that would be submitted to the government for implementation. Framing of the draft document backed by the party’s ideology would be at the core of the agenda of the state executive meeting scheduled for October 4 and 5.

It is learnt that during last month’s training session of the party leadership and party cadre conducted in Shimla, national president Rajnath Singh had called upon the party cadre, leaders of frontal organisations and convenors of various cells for brainstorming on important issues such as employment generation, emerging areas of economic development, skill development of youth and scope of tourism development. “The idea is to work out a best possible way of implementing developmental schemes which uphold the party’s ideology and are in public interest. The greatest focus would be on employment generation, said a party leader.

Various proposals that were raised for implementation in the state during the recently held national executive meeting in Bangalore would also be taken up for incorporation in the party’s agenda and mode of functioning before the Lok Sabha elections.

While in the past only the government departments have been involved in identifying the roadmap for themselves, it is the first time that the BJP is framing a futuristic plan for the state as a suggestion to the government. It is being said that this idea, floated by the national leadership, is also being seen as a helping hand to the government to keep reminding it of its election promises outlined in the party manifesto.
