
It is festive season for the Delhi stage. The seventh edition of the Old World Theatre Festival, organised by the India Habitat Centre, opens on Friday. The 10-day festival comprises hit productions from across India and is divided into two sections 8212; a main slot for professional groups and another for college plays. Mumbai dominates the former, with Rahul da Cunha8217;s Chaos Theory, Akvarious Productions8217; All About Women, Ekjute Theatre Group8217;s Sach, Juta, Namak and Working Title8217;s 60 Seconds Deep. The only non-Mumbai play in this slot is Habib Tanvir8217;s Raj Rakht which the director has described as depicting 8220;the conflict between religious and secular authority through the story of a king, a priest and the priest8217;s young son8221;. The college productions include Lady Shri Ram College8217;s Accidental Death of An Anarchist, Venkateswara College8217;s Macwho?, Ramjas College8217;s Par Hamein Khelna Hai and KMC8217;s Line Mein Lago!.
