Springdales run through Guru Harkishan School

NEW DELHI, January 13: Springdales School, Pusa Road routed Guru Harkishan Public School by eight goals to one in the opening match of the 12th Limca Soccer Tournament at the Modern School ground here today.

The winners struck four goals in each half in this hopelessly one-sided encounter. There was hardly anything that Guru Harkishan boys could offer by way of resistance except and their only consolation was the lone goal that they scored through Ramik. He scored in the second half, beating an onrushing goalkeeper with a placement.

Shivalik Sud (2), Varun Sachdeva (2), Bharat Singh (2), Mohd Kasif and Sandeep Vij scored for Springdales. The most spectacular goal was that of Mohd Kasif goal which came in the second half. He cut from the left and shot home from acute angle. R.K.Bhatia, Principal, Modern School declared the tournament open.
