South Asian Univ’s 1st session by 2010

The Government on Monday said that the South Asian University is expected to begin its first academic session by 2010.

The Government on Monday said that the South Asian University is expected to begin its first academic session by 2010.

Informing this, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said, “The main campus in New Delhi will be hosting nearly 5,000 students and an international faculty. Also the University is expected to have linked campuses in other member states.”

SAARC countries have appointed Professor G K Chaddha, Member, Economic Advisory Council and former Vice Chancellor of JNU as the CEO of the Project Office. They will be responsible for acquiring land for the university, overseeing its construction and drawing up its charter, byelaws, business plan, governance structure and course curricula.
