Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will oppose any Bill on banning religious conversion in Jharkhand if tabled in the Assembly, Union Coal Minister and JMM chief Shibu Soren said here today.
Religious conversion was a personal and sensitive matter. Therefore the BJP-led NDA government in the state must not interfere with it, he told reporters here.
Soren said that if the Arjun Munda government tried to introduce such a Bill in the Assembly, his party was geared up to meet the challenge. The Union minister charged the BJP and RSS with trying to ignite communal tension in the state for political mileage by introducing this legislation. However, the JMM, he said, would not allow them to succeed.
Replying to a query, the coal minister reiterated that the policy of job against land in the coal industry would continue. He said persons displaced by the coal industry would not be made victims. He said sale of coal through e-auction would also continue in Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) as it was bringing in profit. Hard coke industry and other coal-based factories would also be given adequate coal supply for smooth functioning, he said.
