Senior Citizen8217;s Club and Rotary Club of Pune Central had their installation ceremony for their new team of committee members at Anjuman-E-Islam girls orphanage N.B Hall, Bund Garden Road on Sunday, June 27 at 5.30 p.m. Lt.Col. M.G Athavale retd., president, executive committee, ASCOP, Pune was the chief guest of the function. Rotarian Dolly Rizvi was installed as president of Senior Citizens8217; Club by the outgoing president Rotarian Hoshang Pundole.
Fond farewell
The president of the Dastur Schools, H N K Dastur, the members of the board of management, principals and supervisors of the three sister schools 8211; Sardar Dastur Nosherwan Girls8217; High School, Sardar Dastur Hormazdiar High School and Bai Najami Nosherwan Primary and nursery schools 8211; bid a touching farewell to Principal V M Thipse, who retires on completion of his dedicated service to the institution.
Ghanekar awarded Sarvashree
Management Consultant and social activist Dr. V V Ghanekar was awarded the honour Sarvashree8217; by Special Magistrate Society, Mumbai. He was awarded the honour for his participation and research contribution in co-operation rural development, management, forestry, pollution control, consumer protection and religious interest. he is office bearer of Institute of Rural Development and Education, Consumers Guidance Society, BMCC past students association, Shri Hari Kirtanottagake Sabha. He is a research guide for Ph.D in Commerce and Management for Ph.D and M.Phil degrees. In the past he was awarded for his research work in co-operation.

Studyquest launched its new website studyquest.com, to assist class X and XII students with their queries. Students will be able to send their queries by e-mail and the answers will be sent back to them within a stipulated time, by eminent teachers with a wide range of experienceStudyquest helps diligent students understand concepts and appear for competitive examinations. Information such as details of college admissions, courses available, eligibility criteria, will also be available on this site. While the website and all its contents will be available free to anybody who accesses the site, special services such as query reply, test papers, will be paid services available for members registered with Studyquest.
Meritorious performance
Indira Institute of Management secured 100 per cent pass result in the 1998-99 M.B.A course. Three students of this college have featured in the merit list. Under the able guidance of Tarita Vakalkar Mehendale, founder, Indira Institute, Preeti Bal, secured 78.5 per cent and stood fourth in the merit list. The other two on the merit list are Preeti Divekar and Purvi Bathaviya.
Wheels of change
The Innerwheel Club of Pune Riverside held its installation ceremony at Poona Club on Saturday. Immediate past president Lalita Agarwal handed over the president8217;s badge to Mona Pujara, president for the year 1999-2000. Similarly, other portfolios were handed over to members of the new committee. Nandita Nabar, district chairman-elect, was the chief guest, while the guest of honour was Sunanda Kaushik, past district chairman. Present district chairman Mohini Rathi and presidents of various Rotary and Innerwheel clubs of Pune were also present at the function.
Several personalities and social organisations of Pune were honoured for their support given to the club to help it achieve its goal for the year 8211; 8220;Make our world a better place.8221;
