Festival of colours
It is said all evils came to an end on Holi when Prahlad, the son of King Harshavardhan, came out of the burning flames from the lap of Holika. Holika had a blessing that fire cannot destroy her. Prahlad was a worshiper of Lord Vishnu but his father believed that he is the Almighty, so he asked his sister Holika to kill Prahlad.
Holi was burned a day prior to the colour festival at many places in the city. There was great fun and excitement seen in Ganga Retreat where Euphoria performed live and kept the scene alive with catchy numbers. Special arrangements were made for a colourful rain dance. The CME campus saw a lot of life as people actively celebrated Holi. All the officers got together with their families at the Officers’ Institute where special arrangements were made for entertainment, dance, food, water and colours.
The Anandamayee Ashram celebrated Holi with great fervour on March 2. Akhand Nam Kirtan was performed throughout the day along with Chaitanya Mahaprabhu puja. In the evening mahaprasad was distributed to the devotees.
