NEW DELHI, OCT 6: "We express our concern at the prolonged dispute in Maruti on the question of new incentive scheme, implementation of the pension scheme and regularisation of contract workers," a statement issued by CITU secretary P K Ganguly said here.

It said the Maruti management instead of settling the demands through negotiation has resorted to suspension of 11 union leaders, while more actions were expected.

The president and general secretary of the Maruti Udyog Employees Union are on an indefinite hunger strike since October 2 while all the workers are also on tool-down strike for two hours daily, the statement said.

The unions also appealed to the workers of all affiliations to express their solidarity with the Maruti workers so that "their struggle ends successfully".
