Institutional football from May 1
Twenty-four institutional football teams affiliated to Delhi Soccer Association will participate in the DSA Institutional football League Championship beginning on May 1 at the Ambedkar Stadium here.

Among the prominent teams are last year’s winners FCI (North Zone), runners-up CISF, Northern Railway, FCI (Hq), Delhi Customs, ESI, OBC, PNB, RBI, Urban Development, Central Sectt, Indian Airlines, DTC, Delhi Audit, Delhi Admn, DDA, DVB, Chefair, Railway Board, BOI, EIL, Delhi Telecom, Airport Authority.

The inaugural match of the championship will be played between Punjab National Bank and Zakir Hussain College on May 1.

Chand Khanna move up
Chand Khanna Club entered the semifinal of the eighth All India Om Nath Sood Memorial tournament when their opponents ONGC failed to turn up for the match at Roshanara grounds. Chand Khanna will play the winners of the match between last year’s runners-up D S Group and Rohtak Road Gymkhana.

Tissot trials
Tissot Cricket Academy will hold trials to spot fresh talent for coaching in the 8-18 age group at PGDAV College ground at 8 am during May 1-3. Interested boys should report to Virender Bhatnagar, OP Malhotra, P Jain, Anil Chaudhary or S Rai at the college grounds.

Bhola XI beat Delhi Eaglets by two wickets in the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose tournament.

Brief scores: Delhi Eaglets: 85 for 5 (Nitin 31, Bhuvan 2 for 7, Sekhar 2 for 12) lost to Bhola XI: 87 for 8 (Pradeep 20, Vijay 2 for 12).
