MUMBAI, DECEMBER 16: Mumbai finally came good on the concluding day of their Hindustan Inks West Zone under-22 semi-final against Baroda. And the man turning the tide for Mumbai was off-spinner Faisal Shaikh, who claimed six wickets for 34 runs which paved the ten-wicket victory path at the MiG Club, Bandra ground on Thursday.

After gaining a 37-run lead, the Mumbai bowlers led by Shaikh sent the Baroda innings into a tailspin that saw the opposition crumbling out for a paltry 147.

The Mumbai openers Hrishikesh Shende (42: 71b, 91m, 6×4) and Manish Bangera (62: 62: 62b, 8×4) then complimented Shaikh’s efforts in superb fashion. The first-wicket duo raced to the 111-run target without getting separated to give Mumbai an emphatic victory.

Mumbai now take on Maharashtra in the summit clash to be staged at the Wankhede Stadium from December 18.
