Several passengers were injured when a speeding Chambal Express rammed into a stationary train near South Malka area in Allahabad district on Thursday. The Chambal Express hit the Pune-Darbhanga train at around 8.15 pm, North Central Railway General Manager Budh Prakash said. Several passengers, including the driver of the Chambal Express, were injured in the accident, DIG Railways P K Tewari said.
The last coach of the Pune-Darbhanga Express was badly damaged in the accident. Local police and the Railway Police helped the guards come out of the damaged coach. Tewari said: 8220;Casualties cannot be confirmed as more guards are still trapped inside.8221;
