
KHARAR, Feb 24: The Kharar police have arrested seven members of a gang allegedly involved in an attack on the family of Purshotam Singh in Dasumajra village, 4 km from here on April 26 last. Cash and other valuables burgled from the house were recovered from their possession.
Disclosing this here today, Kharar SHO Rajinder Singh Sohal said that those arrested included Bhaiya Lal, Bhagwant, Shiv Pujan, Shankar, Bihari, Dara and Raju, all resident of Gajipur in Uttar Pradesh.
Sohal added that a case under Sections 457/458/148/149 of the Indian Penal Code had been registered against the accused.
The accused were produced in the Kharar court which remanded them to police custody, he added.
Cheat arrested: Kharar Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Neelam Arora today remanded Naresh Kumar to police custody till February 25. The accused was arrested by the local police on the charges of preparing fake documents for offering job opportunities to the unemployed youths and was produced in the court here today. Disclosing this, SHO Rajinder Singh Sohal said a case under sections 406/420/467/468/473/171 of the IPC had been registered against the accused. He said the accused had accepted money from Gurdarshan Singh of nearby Lakhnaur village in the lieu of providing him a job. The fake appointment orders for the job of lift man in Punjab and Haryana High Court were issued to him by the accused.
The SHO added that the accused possesses a fake identity card as a reader of Punjab and Haryana High Court, while he was working as a piyada in a lower court from where he had been suspended. Some fake documents and stamps were recovered from his possession, he informed.
