PUNE, MAY 23: To give more impetus to the ongoing anti-Enron campaign, Sarvodayis will now actively participate in anti-Enron agitations. This was stated in a press conference organised here on Wednesday.

The first batch of Sarva Seva Sangh, one of the front organisations of Sarvodaya Mandal will launch a satyagraha at Dabhol on May 26, stated Bhai Amarnath of Sarva Seva Sangh in the press conference.

“Fifty full timers of Sarvodaya Parivar from all over India will constitute the first batch of anti-Enron satyagrahis,” said Bhai Amarnath adding that the Sarvodaya Parivar will participate in the agitations till Enron is thrown out of India.

Bhai Amarnath met Anna Hazare earlier in the day where he discussed the future course of the anti-corruption agitation launched by Anna Hazare. “We also discussed alternative options to the present form of governance,” he told mediapersons.

“Although the government claims to have fulfilled Gandhiji’s dream of Gram Swaraj through Panchayati Raj, in reality it is not so. For about 6 lakh villages in India, we have only 2 lakh panchayats. This means 2/3 of the villages still do not have a say in matters of administration,” he said. He further added that India’s security will be at stake if Enron is allowed to establish its project at Dabhol.
