Dalal Street ended little changed after another volatile trade on Tuesday, as gains in power, metal, cement and select automobile stocks were offset by losses in pharma, banking and PSU stocks. The sentiment was affected towards the end of the session after pharma giant Ranbaxy8217;s results failed to meet expectations.

Moving in an intra-day range of 95 points, the 30-share Sensex ended with a loss of 1.72 points at 6,192.35. The NSE S038;P CNX Nifty index ended 1.15 points higher at 1,934.05, coming off its day8217;s high of 1,956.95. The market displayed volatility in intra-day trades on Tuesday. The market opened higher on Tuesday morning. But the recovery proved short-lived, as stocks lost ground after early gains.
