PUNE, Nov 26: Justice Kuldip Singh, former judge of the Supreme Court, will be inaugurating a seminar on Environmental perspective for the 21st century8217; on November 28.

Suresh Prabhu, Central Minister of Environment and Forests, Justice Ashok Desai of the Bombay High Court, Mohan Dharia, Dr Arun Nigvekar, and other legal experts and environmental activists will address the delegates. The seminar is being organised at the Sant Dhyaneshwar Hall, by the Young Lawyer8217;s Forum, along with the University of Pune, Vanrai, and the Association of Friends of Germany, said Vandana Chavan, convener, Young Lawyer8217;s Forum, briefing the Press this morning.

8220;Dereservation, air, water and noise pollution, river bed improvement project, solid waste disposal, increasing FSI, allowing construction on hill slopes, cleanliness of the city are some of the topics slated for discussion at the seminar,8221; said Chavan.

Before the inaugural function there will be a preliminary discussion on Government8217;s environmental policy, legislative measures and role of judiciary8217; which will be chaired by Justice SS Nijjar of the Bombay High Court. Dr Satyaranjan Sathe, Vijay Paranjpye, Shyam Chainani, advocate Shyam Diwan, advocate Rafiq Dada and advocate NP Bhog will take part in the discussions.

The inaugural function will be followed by a Round Table Discussion on Sustainable development 8212; a strategy for the 21st century8217;, which will be chaired by Dr Shridhar Gupte, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Pune.
