ISLAMABAD, MARCH 25: High drama preceded US President Bill Clinton’s visit to Pakistan when a bomb explosion in Karachi killed two persons and injured six others. On Friday, Army and police personnel had seized two bombs and arrested the man who was planting the explosives in a vehicle in Islamabad’s twin city of Rawalpindi, ahead of US President Bill Clinton’s trip here.
Topping it all, the US Secret Service took unusually elaborate precautions to ensure that Clinton made a safe landing at Chaklala Air Base for a four-hour stopover in Islamabad. The US Secret Service sent a decoy aircraft ahead to Islamabad before bringing Clinton in on an unmarked plane.
