Assault On Lensman : Two held on FridayCity journalists stated that they would wear black badges at a function at Jagraon on Saturday, where Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will be present, if all the accused who allegedly assaulted two journalists in Sarabha Nagar on Thursday were not arrested. The police arrested two persons, Raghav and Matta, on Friday.At a meeting this afternoon, mediapersons from all leading dailies and TV news channels expressed dissatisfaction on the progress in the case. The arrests were termed as inadequate and the gathering unanimously passed an ultimatum — the police should arrest all the remaining accused by Saturday morning failing which they will wear black badges while attending the CM's function.On Thursday evening, photojournalist Harpreet Singh Makkar and his colleague Poonam Sapra, both working with a vernacular daily, were allegedly beaten up by a few unidentified men, who claimed to be relatives of a senior Akali leader. The men took away the photojournalist's camera as the duo was returning to office after covering an assignment in Sarabha Nagar's main market. Later, the angry journalists took out a protest march and raised slogans against the Punjab Police for their slow approach.
