BJP’s top leadership has given consent to its district leaders to tap potential leaders from the Opposition ahead of the local body polls in Maharashtra. Party insiders said, “Our top leaders are encouraging an inflow of leaders to consolidate the organisation across districts, talukas and village level.” According to party workers, the leadership believes, “We need to weaken the Opposition completely and to do so, loyal BJP workers will have to accommodate newcomers, keeping the overall interest of the party above everything. Those uneasy about it have been categorically told that they need to understand and accept party’s expansion.”

CMO official

Usually government departments form committees inviting specialists from other fields to complement the ongoing work. A powerful minister in the previous government, who is struggling now, was forced to set up a committee of officials from his own department. As he was unable to comprehend the logic, his attention was drawn towards one name from outside his department — from the CMO. The said official will now be a part of every move, decision or project from the department or the minister’s office.

Transfer of fraudsters

When senior officers who are transferred to other postings, they generally take along their orderly, a favourite chair and some good practises. However, in a unique case, it has emerged that a bunch officers in the state have taken local fraudsters along. The fraudsters who they permitted to flourish in exchange for money in their jurisdiction, were apparently taken to their new postings as well to carry out their operation so that the steady “flow of income” continued for the officers.
