BJP’s top leadership has given consent to its district leaders to tap potential leaders from the Opposition ahead of the local body polls in Maharashtra. Party insiders said, “Our top leaders are encouraging an inflow of leaders to consolidate the organisation across districts, talukas and village level.” According to party workers, the leadership believes, “We need to weaken the Opposition completely and to do so, loyal BJP workers will have to accommodate newcomers, keeping the overall interest of the party above everything. Those uneasy about it have been categorically told that they need to understand and accept party’s expansion.”
