World champion Michael Schumacher will start Formula One’s first race in the Middle East on pole position after leading Ferrari to a front row sweep in Bahrain on Saturday.
The six-time champion lapped the Sakhir circuit here in one minute 30.139 seconds, 0.391 of a second quicker than his teammate Rubens Barrichello.
It was Schumacher’s third pole in a row in three races so far this season and the 58th of his career. Schumacher is unbeaten so far this year.
