The viscera report of British girl Scarlett Keeling found dead on Goa’s popular Anjuna beach has confirmed the presence of drugs and alcohol in her body.

The police, however, said the report did not mention whether she died due to drug overdose.

Scarlett, the 15-year-old British national, was found dead on Anjuna beach on February 18. The police investigation in the case had established that the girl died after she was drugged, raped and left to die in the shallow beach waters.

“The (viscera) report is positive for drugs and alcohol,” Inspector General of Police Kishan Kumar told media persons on Thursday. He said the report spoke of cocaine and morphain being found in her body.

The police claimed the report had strengthened their case and confirmed that their line of investigation was right on the track.

“It is not mentioned in the report whether there was a drug overdose,” the IGP said declining to specify whether the girl died due to drug overdose.

“It will not be fair on my part to give any opinion,” he said.

Kumar, who was supervising investigations into the sensational case right from the day when second autopsy was conducted on Scarlett’s body suggesting that the girl’s death be treated as a case of murder, said a chain of events finally culminated in her death.
