Post-Diwali AQI shoots up in four Metro cities, Bengaluru records ‘good’ air quality

After Delhi, the worst AQI was recorded in Ahmedabad and Kolkata. Ahmedabad has an AQI of 286 at 7.30 am while Kolkata recorded an AQI of 272 in the morning. Here is the AQI of the eight metropolitan cities in India on Tuesday –

With air quality worsening, residents of Delhi–NCR and other affected cities are advised to wear masks and stay indoors as much as possible to avoid exposure to toxic air. Health experts recommend avoiding outdoor activities such as walking, jogging, or exercising, as fine particulate pollutants can enter deep into the lungs and bloodstream.

While aqi.in showed that the air quality of Delhi is in the ‘severe’ category, the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi recorded an AQI of 346, in the ‘very poor’ category.

The AQI on both platforms differs due to the difference in the parameters to measure the air quality index.
