SAD members switch over to AISAD

PATIALA, Aug 1: The Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) today received a major setback when a large number of its senior leaders announced switching over of their loyalties to the All India Shiromani Akali Dal (AISAD) led by Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra.

A press release issued here today by Gurjit Singh Sahni, secretary general, AISAD, claimed that due to the efforts made by Jathedar Saroop Singh Sehgal and Jathedar Joginder Singh Chhang, both senior leaders of the party, the party has succeeded in roping in Jathedar Jaimal Singh and Tirlochan Singh Chakiwala with their followers into the party fold.

The press release claimed that more and more people were joining the party everyday and the people, especially the Sikhs of the city, had reposed full faith in the policies and programmes initiated by Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra.
