Both the Indian and Australian teams had a long practice session at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here ahead of the second Test which begins on Thursday, the highlight of which was sidelined Indian batting star Sachin Tendulkar turning his arm over to Rahul Dravid at the nets.

Sunil Gavaskar, along with Sachin Tendulkar, led the Indian team to the ground on its arrival at Chepauk by a team bus. Gavaskar went straight to the wicket and had a chat with the curators. He later watched Yuvraj Singh and Sourav Ganguly batting from behind the nets. Openers Aakash Chopra and Virender Sehwag had fairly long stints to start with, followed by practically every other Indian batsman having a go.

Meanwhile, John Wright spent his hours at the Chepauk giving catching practice to first Test reserves Murali Kartik and Mohammed Kaif, and later to Anil Kumble and Sehwag. Dravid was called up for some slip catching practice as well.
