Condemning the terrorist attack on Raghunath temple in Jammu, Russia has asked Islamabad to dismantle all terrorist camps on Pak-controlled territory.‘‘Moscow has received with profound concern and anxiety news of another seizure by terrorists of a Hindu temple in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in casualties among civilians,’’ a Russian Foreign Ministry statement said. According to media reports published today, Hussain, whose Jamat-e-Islami was closely involved in Kashmir militancy and has links with various Pakistan-based militant outfits, met Saeed at his residence in Lahore yesterday. This was their first meeting after Saeed was released from preventive detention recently. The meeting took place even as India said that there was a spurt in militant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir after the release of Saeed from prison. PTI ‘‘Expressing our condolence to the kith and kin of the victims, we note that behind this villainous crime, without doubt, stand the forces which would like to thwart the tendency for the relaxation of tensions between India and Pakistan that has emerged recently through the efforts of the international community,’’ the statement said. ‘‘We stress that the primary condition of the cessation of terrorist acts in Jammu and Kashmir is the complete fulfillment by Pakistan’s authorities of the obligations assumed for the eradication of the terrorist infrastructure in the country,’’ the statement stressed. ‘‘The present act of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, just as the recent hostage-taking in Moscow are links in one and the same chain of crimes by international terrorism now posing the main threat to peace and security, including in South Asia,’’ the statement said.
