The RSP today said it is extremely unhappy with the quality of governance provided by the Manmohan Singh Government and held out the threat of withdrawal from a government it is only supporting from outside. Of course, it moderated the threat with several ifs and buts and also said such action ‘‘would depend on a final green signal from the leader of Left parties, the CPI(M)’’.
After the party’s two-day Central Secretariat meeting, RSP general secretary K. Pankajakshan said they have evaluated the Government’s performance in its 100 days in office and felt the ‘‘government could not address the concerns of the people effectively’’.
‘‘Frequent hikes in the price of petroleum products and the unchecked inflation has resulted in the heavy increase of price of essential commodities. This in turn has further burdened the common man,’’ the RSP statement said.
