THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, APRIL 21: RSP dissident leader Babu Divakaran, MLA, said on Monday that the party leadership’s opposition to a Congress-led Government will only help in the reinstallation of the BJP Government at the Centre, possibly with L K Advani as the next Prime Minister.

Babu Divakaran said RSP’s 5 MPs were elected on the Left Front label. Hence the party did not have any moral right to oppose the Left’s collective decision to oust “fascist communal forces” from power and install a secular combine, led by the Congress.

While lending issue-based support under “very peculiar circumstances”, CPM and CPI retained their basic differences with Congress. Therefore, party leaders, especially those in Kerala, should review their stand and cooperate with the Left front at this crucial juncture in upholding the unity and integrity of the country, Babu Divakaran said.
