PUNE, NOV 8: Five persons were killed in three separate road mishaps which took place in the rural outskirts of the city since Friday.

Three persons were killed when a private luxury bus collided head on with their bus at Dalaj village on Pune-Solapur highway on Friday.

The identities of those killed in the mishap were ascertained as Manojkumar S Thakur of Bhosari, Gunvant N Jadhav of Hadapsar and Rajendra T Shinde from Barshi by Walchandnagar police.

Riyaz A Sayyed (20) of Bhavani Peth was killed when a truck dashed against his scooter at Khed Shivapur on Saturday. Haveli police said the mishap took place while the truck driver was trying to avoid dash against a motorbike.

Rajabhau Martand Jogdand of Kharabwadi hamlet in Haveli taluka was killed when a truck dashed against his scooter on the road linking Chakan with Talegaon on Sunday. Chakan police have filed a case against the truck driver Akram Ismail Shaikh.
