MUMBAI, JanN 6: Soon after joining the Jan Morcha floated by Laloo Prasad Yadav, the former Gujarat chief minister, Shankarsinh Vaghela said his party would contest on about 100 parliamentary constituencies through out the country.

Speaking to reporters here today, the president of the Rashtriya Janata Party revealed that apart from Gujarat he would be fielding about 20 candidates from Uttar Pradesh, 15 from Maharashtra, four in Bihar and Haryana, two in Delhi, six in Andhra Pradesh and Punjab. “Humanising politics and introducing true federal spirit with the participation of all states would the main plank of the party,” Vaghela said.

When asked how he would justify his alliance with the Congress in Gujarat after having described the party as a “sick industry”, Vaghela said, the Congress’ sickness was cured after the entry of Sonia Gandhi. He said a meeting between his party leaders and Congress was scheduled for tomorrow for finalising seat adjustment in Gujarat.
