CHENNAI, Sept 28: Mountains, rivers and languages are meant to bring humanity together and not to divide, and in this context there was now an atmosphere of solving the Cauvery water dispute, Karnataka Chief Minister J H Patel said on Sunday.

Speaking at the function organised by the film industry to felicitate Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on his 75 the birthday and his 52 years of service to the industry, he said some political forces both in TN and Karnataka were trying to disturb this atmosphere. Some people believe in the politics of division. But `my dear old man’ (as he addresses Karunanidhi) believed in politics of confidence and trust, and this is what attracts me, Patel said.

And as a final assurance he said: “You take care of the Karnataka farmers and we will take care of Tamil Nadu farmers”.
