The Jabalpur Police on Monday announced a reward of Rs 5,000 each on the head of two absconding leaders of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
The reward was announced by Jabalpur Superintendent of Police Makrand Deoskar against SIMI leaders Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Shakil.
“Both are absconding and a search is on to trace them,” he told reporters.
The names of these two leaders surfaced after the arrest of top SIMI leaders in Indore and Dhar districts of Madhya Pradesh in March, he added.
Meanwhile three top leaders of SIMI were on Monday taken for Narco Analysis test to Bangalore in a private airlines’ flight along with senior police officers.
The trio – Safdar Hussein Nagori, Qamaruddin Nagori and Aamil Parvez – were taken for the Narco Analysis tests at Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL), Bangalore, highly placed sources said.
Police had made elaborate security arrangements at the Dev Ahilyabai Airport in Indore when the arrested SIMI leaders were taken to Bangalore.
Meanwhile, police has also obtained permission from the local court to conduct the Narco test of two more arrested SIMI workers identified as – Raees Ahmed Khan and Abdul Razzaq and they would soon be taken to Ahmbedabad-based laboratory for conducting the examination. Both Razzaq and Raees were arrested by the police from two different areas of Indore on March 31.
Police is expecting that the tests may reveal more information about their subversive plans, the sources said as the SIMI leaders were not coming out with specific details and many times provide misleading information to the investigating teams.
