
CHENNAI, Jan 22: The renovation of the century-old Connemera Public Library, with its treasured collection of books like the 12-volume Hortus Indus Malabaricus, published in 1678-1703, and Charles Lockyer’s An Account of hte Tradein India’, piblished in 1711, was inaugurated by the Director General of the Archaeoligical Survey of India, Ajay Shankar. He said Rs 60 lakh was allotted to the Chennai circle, of which over Rs 50 lakhs had been spent in executing works.
