AMBALA, July 12: Former CBI director Joginder Singh has said that nexus between politicians, bureaucrats, industrialists and the mafia had bred corruption in the country. The country could not get rid of this malaise until public in general was sensitised to the fallouts of the same, which had brought it on the frontline of the most corrupt countries in the world. Singh was speaking at the foudnation day function orgnanised by the Ambala Cantonment Vikas Parishad at the S.D. School here yesterday.

The former CBI chief said that unbridled bureauracy had gone out of control of even the politicans whom they make dance to their tunes by twisting the rules and regulations which are in vogue since the English rule in the country. He said that the rules needed to be amended and repealed for public probity. He said that India was the eighth most corrupt country from the bottom of the 177 countries in the world.

He said that the rules governing the functioning of the administration, police, public audit etc. must undergo a change to improve the deteriorating standards of public life.

Earlier, saplings were planted by Singh, Jai Dev and other functionaries of the parishad to mark the occasion of Van Mahotsav.
