Citizens’ Initiative for judicial probe into Adarsh scam

The Citizens' Initiative for Peace said that top politicians appear to be mired in it.

The Citizens’ Initiative for Peace (CIP) has demanded a judicial inquiry into the Adarsh scam, saying that top politicians and bureaucrats and high ranking military officers appear to be mired in it.

“Given the seriousness of the case, the scale of blatant corruption and high-level involvement,we demand an immediate institution of a judicial inquiry into the scandal,” CIP,a conglomeration of NGOs and activists, said in a statement.

The probe should be led by a serving High Court judge nominated by the Chief Justice in order to unearth the full dimensions of the scandal and bring the guilty to book,CIP leader Jatin Desai said.

A demonstration is being held by the National Alliance of Peoples’ Movements here tomorrow to demand a judicial inquiry into the scam,he added.
