The stand taken by MNS chief Raj Thackeray on employment opportunities in Railways is correct and the North Indian leaders need to introspect over the issue, MP Balasaheb Vikhe Patil said.
Patil said that as per the constitutional provision any Indian citizen can go any where in the country but he or she should merge with culture of that state and keep hormonious relations with the state’s people.
Equal opportunities in state jobs is not an unjust demand and when we find the north Indians more in a public sector unit like Railways it will give rise to dispute naturally, Patil said.
Every political leader should strive for the betterment of public in general but they are worried more for self esteem and prestige, Patil regretted.
Leaders from UP and Bihar were made the Railway ministers and there have been keen contest in getting this postfolio, he added.
The issue of equal employment opportunities in public sector undertakings could be settled amicably if all the concerned keep aside their personal and party gains think of larger interest, Patil said. To achieve this, political will is important, he said.
