RAIPUR/BHOPAL, OCT 19: Special arrangements are being made at the Raipur railway station for the officials and employees arriving from Bhopal between October 29 to 31 for services in the new Chhattisgarh State.

Divisional commissioner S.Minj on Wednesday convened a meeting of senior officers to discuss the arrangements. The officers have been instructed to immediately inform the divisional commissioner’s office about the name and designation of officials coming here.

The administrator, capital project M.K. Raut informed that he had received information that about 4,484 officials and employees were expected from Bhopal, and out of which 262 are Grade 1, 299 are Grade 2 and 3061 are Grade 3 employees. He added that arrangements at the transit hostel were being given final shape.

Meanwhile, the formation of Chhattisgarh state is being reported confirmed for November 1. The district administration has already started preparations for the swearing in ceremony of the Governor, Chief Minister and members of the state ministry. It is expecting eminent guests including Prime Minister A.B.Vajpayee, Union Home Minister L.K. Advani, AICC National President Sonia Gandhi and others at the swearing ceremony. Besides, central ministers, state ministers, former chief ministers, MPs, MLAs, High Court judges, freedom fighters and about 700 chief guest have been invited.

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced several incentives for employees to be posted to the new state of Chhattisgarh. The employees reporting on duty in the new state by October 31 will get benefits like lump-sum transfer grant equivalent to one month basic salary and advance salary equivalent to two-month basic salary, an official release said here on Thursday. The recovery of advance salary will be made in 12 monthly installments, it said.

The employees being posted in Chhattisgarh capital will be provided free lodging on an interim basis, the release said, adding the staff having government houses will be allowed to retain it on normal rates for a year.

The employees of Mantralaya and Head of Department cadres will be given two advance increments to be adjusted against their future increments, it said.

Children of the employees would be permitted to seek transfer or admission mid-session. The facility will be specially available to students of medical and other technical institutions.

Families of government employees will continue to get medical facilities in government hospitals even after their transfer to Chhattisgarh, the release said.
