TRIPRAYAR (KERALA), APRIL 6: Holders Indian Railways continued their winning streak with a comfortable 25-15, 25-14, 25-15 win over last year third spot holder Tamil Nadu in the women’s round-robin league of the third National Volleyball Super League here tonight.
While Railways registered their second win from the four-team league, having beaten Bengal in the opener, Tamil Nadu suffered their second defeat after losing to Kerala yesterday.
Railways were far ahead of their rivals in all departments. Tamil Nadu’s lack of inches added to their woes.
As in their first match against West Bengal, Railways pierced the Tamil Nadu defence. Captain international Sangeetha, Salomi Ramu and Hemalatha collected points through their accurate and thundering smashes. Hemalatha and Vaisali also bagged points with a double net block.
