2 killed in Pak firing
SRINAGAR: Two persons were killed and 25 injured when Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on civilian areas of Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said here on Wednesday. The deceased were killed in Uri and Teetwal areas on Tuesday, he said, adding, the condition of three injured, including two children was stated to be serious.

TIRUPATI: More than 1,200 health and sanitary workers of the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams TTD went on an indefinite strike from Wednesday, in protest against the TTD management8217;s decision to privatise the maintenance work of cottages and choultries in Tirumala hills.

KOLHAPUR: Frustrated over their failure in the HSC and SSC examinations, two students including a girl committed suicide in two separate incidents in the district on Tuesday. Raginee Umesh Kashikar 18 hailing from a city suburb committed suicide by strangling herself while Rafik Mullani 17 ofPanhala taluka jumped into a well.
