BD Goenka awards today
HYDERABAD: The 1996 and 1997 BD Goenka Awards for excellence in journalism will be presented by Vice President Krishan Kant, at a function here on Tuesday. Awardees for 1996 are KM Mathew, Chief Editor, Malayala Manorama and Krishna Raj, Editor, Economic and Political Weekly. DN Bezboruah, the editor of The Sentinel, is awardee for 1997.
FM slots case
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today upheld Prasar Bharati8217;s decision to auction the FM slots on AIR. It dismissed petitions from Bennet Coleman publishers of The Times of India and the holding company of Times FM, and Star Entertainment, seeking renewal of their time slots.
