ISLAMABAD: Pakistan army today said democracy was intact8217; in the country and promised to come out with quot;something concrete soonquot;. Troops today sealed Parliament after evacuating the staff even as the army claimed it was toying with the idea of installing a civilian government. The army sealed the building on the eve of the National Assembly session.

DAR-ES-SALAAM: Former Tanzanian President Julius Nyerere has died at the age of 77 in a London hospital, President Benjamin Mkapa announced here Thursday. Nyerere, who delivered Tanzania into independence from Britain in1961, and is regarded as the father of the nation, was suffering from leukaemia.
Crash kills pilot
HYDERABAD: A trainee pilot of IAF, flying office C Maratha, died when aircraft he was flying crashed in fields at Allirajpet of Jagdevpur Mandal near Medak district Thursday morning, the aircraft crashed at about 9.45 a.m. killing the pilot on the spot.
