Rally of disabled children
The Rotary Club of Pune East will organise a joy rally of disabled children at the Bal Kalyan Sanstha in Aundh on June 20. Over 100 children from 35 schools in and around Pune are expected to participate in the rally, to be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The heads of schools who wish to send their children for the rally should contact Mahendra Jain, telephone nos. 474058 or 473243.

Maths scholarship
Atreyee Maiti, a student of St. Joseph8217;s High School, Pashan, and Sebanti Sengupta of St. Helena8217;s High school have topped in the Std. IV section of mathematics scholarship examination conducted by the Institute for Promotion of Mathematics, Khadki, in March this year. Both will receive Rs 1,100 each as scholarship. Shiladitya Banerjee of Loyola High School and Mrunal Deshmukh of Bhave Primary School have been selected for a scholarship of Rs 700 each.

In the Std. VII section, Alok Kothari of Jnana Prabodhini, Nigdi, has been selected for scholarship of Rs 2,000 while Ketan Agarwal of Muktangan English School has been awarded scholarship of Rs 1,600. Chaitanya Ambi of Modern High School and Gaurav Kadoli of Muktangan will receive Rs 1,100 as scholarships. St. Ursula8217;s High school, Nidgi, has won the best school performance prize of Rs 1,000.

Demonstration
The Pune City Youth Congress Committee has planned demonstrations in the city on June 15 to protest against the central government8217;s decision to enhance the retirement age from 58 to 60. A morcha of unemployed youths will be taken to the district collectorate on that day. The morcha which will commence at the Lal Mahal at 10 a.m. will be led by Vithtal Tupe, MP, and city Congress unit president Mohan Joshi, a statement issued by city Youth Congress chief Sanjay Balgunde said.

Book release
Cine actor and writer Milind Gunaji will release a book, The Matallions8217;, by Sanjay Sonawani, at a function to be held at Mahratta Chamber of Commerce and Industries hall at 6.30 p.m. on June 15. The book is published by Coral Tree Publishers, a division of Pushpa Prakashan.
