Railings on Sinhagad ghat soon
Pune: State Public Works Minister Nitin Gadkari has agreed to install iron chains similar to those used in Pasarani Ghat, at the Sinhagad Ghat in order to prevent the frequent occurrence of accidents on the road leading to Sinhagad fort.

It may be recalled that the Akrahazar point8217; on the road has been proving a major accident-prone spot claiming several lives, the latest in the series being the one in which Risbud couple from the city along with their six-year-old child were killed on the ghat road last week. Following strong public outcry over safety hazards on the ghat road after the Risbuds tragedy, MLA Girish Bapat and city corporator Ujjwal Keskar appealed to the minister to install iron chains which the latter agreed to principally.

8220;A delegation of BJP corporators will follow-up the issue with city chief engineer,8221; said Bapat in a press release recently.
